What am I to do?

There is a lot of pressure starting a blog.  What am I going to say?  Do I have anything worth blogging about?  The answer I have come to is YES!  This will be a little introduction blog about who I am, and why I feel like the most blessed person on the plantet.

My name is Melissa.  I am 32 years old .  I have been married to the man of my dreams for 12 years.  We met at a college fraternity party and have been together every since.  I am very much in love with this man!

Brian and I have three blond hair blue eyed children.  Carlee Lane is 10, Coleman Ray is almost 8, and Carson is 5.  They have been such great blessings to my life.  I still can't believe how much you can fall in love with one human being, let alone three of them.

I went to college to become a pre-school teacher.  I worked for a few years, but not for long.  My life for the past 10 1/2 years has been an exciting one.  You see, I am a stay at home mom.  I am not going to lie.  I have always wanted to be a mommy more than anything, but I went through a time period after my daughter was born when I was a little embarassed about not working.  I thought that maybe people would think that I am not smart, or that I was lazy.  I would say things like, "I am just a stay at home mom."

Now that I am older, I have a stronger sense of who I am.  I am proud to be a "just a wife and mommy."  It is not an easy job, but one that the Lord has called me to do.  My husband works hard for the life that I have, and I will not take a second of it for granted.  My heart's cry is to be more like the Proverbs 31 woman.  If you are a Bible reader, I'm sure you are familiar with this passage.  I have grown to love it!

Proverbs 31: 10-31

 10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
   She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
   and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
   all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
   and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
   bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
   she provides food for her family
   and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
   out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
   her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
   and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
   and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
   and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
   for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
   she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
   where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
   and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
   she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
   and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
   and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
   her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
   but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
   but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
   and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I now know that I am to be more like this woman that the Lord describes.  My kids need me, my husband needs me, and I am right where I am supposed to be.  Praise God for His direction for my life!
